The International Visitor Leadership Program at the Greater Cincinnati World Affairs Council is the local leader in the US effort to involve citizens in international public diplomacy.  Since 1964, our mission has been to build global understanding through designing and coordinating best-in-class international training, education and exchange programs. Click here for summaries and photos of recent programs.

We work in collaboration with the US State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, national program agencies and the National Council for International Visitors to implement the prestigious US Department of State, International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).   GCWAC custom-designs professional development programs for current and emerging world leaders who are selected by US embassies to come to the US/Greater Cincinnati to meet their professional counterparts to learn and exchange information and ideas about a specific topic, for example, Economic Development, Rule of Law, Human Rights, Journalism, Volunteerism, Environmental Sustainability and NGO-Capacity Building.

IVLP Volunteers and Professional Hosts
Thank you, gratzi, merci, danke schon, spaseeba, and muchas gracias to all of the outstanding volunteers and professional hosts who participated in IVLP’s programs this past year. Our organization relies on their generosity to donate their time and hospitality to our citizen diplomacy programs.  IVLP’s program would not exist without the continued support of our dedicated volunteers.

If you are interested in volunteering for one of the upcoming programs, or hosting a visitor for an evening, please contact the Director of International Programs, Ms. Michelle Harpenau at 513.621.5222 or mharpenau@cincyworldaffairs.org.
